This server spoon is hand carved from a single piece of bamboo.

Both types have herringbone pattern carved on the handle.

 

Lightweight and nice fit to hand with its neatly rounded edge. 

 

The bamboo used was smoked in the maker's kiln to add durability and resistance to bacteria and mold.

 

Bamboo is a very special and interesting plant that has been utilized in many ways in Asia. 

With its highly resistant nature to humidity, every Japanese household used to have kitchen tools made of bamboo.

    Bamboo is highly resistant to humidity.  Howerver we recommend to let the item air-dried completely after use.
