Guinomi / White Slip by Haga Ryuichi
These cups are made as guinomi, Japanese sake cup. They can be versatile sipper for any hard liquor or quality tea.
Each cup wears white slip but its fired result varies based on the clay used and the firing process.
Made from the wild clay in Kanto area that is found, foraged, and processed by the artist. Wood fired at high temperature in the artist's self-built Anagama kiln.
Made in Mashiko, Japan.

About Maker
Haga Ryuichi is a self-taught potter who lives in the ceramics town of Mashiko in Japan. Digging local soil and minerals for the clay bodies and glazes of his pieces, firing in a self-built kiln, each process needs time and labour yet is essential for him. He sees this whole journey itself as part of the making of his art of fired earth.
