Goblet - Kodomari Ryo
Hand thrown stoneware goblet quintessentially by Kodomari Ryo, featuring geometric mark-making and graphic primitive forms.
Layered glazing techniques include Kohiki slip, sgraffito and iron oxide detailing, finished with a dark khaki-green glaze to the interior.
The surface has a matte finish with a soft sheen that highlights the earthy texture of the clay.
Versatile in use, the piece works equally well as a drinking vessel, a small flower vase or a sculptural object for display. When turned upside down, it can also be used as a candle holder.
Signed neatly to the body or foot, with an olive-green glaze to the interior.
