Haga Ryuichi is a Japanese potter based in Mashiko, one of Japan's best-known ceramics towns. He is part of a contemporary movement of studio potters who use locally sourced clay and minerals for their clay bodies and glazes. Rather than relying on prepared materials, Haga works with raw resources gathered from the local landscape, placing emphasis on the relationship between the land, nature, and the finished ceramic object.

After completing a master's degree in sculpture at Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Haga turned his focus to ceramics. Inspired by 16th-century Momoyama tea wares, he combines traditional Japanese ceramic aesthetics with locally prepared materials. His work reflects both historical influences and a spirit of experimentation, sometimes resulting in highly abstract forms.

Haga's work has been exhibited widely in Japan, including at the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art, Kaikai Kiki Gallery, as well as in international exhibitions.
