Jug - Kodomari Ryo
Handmade stoneware jug with the bold geometric pattern.
The surface finish shows a warm and powdery quality with Kohiki. The white slip is applied on the dark coloured clay body.
Neatly signed on the body or foot.
Inside the jug is glazed in dark and nuanced olive green.
Process:
The main body was partly wheel-thrown, hand-built, and sculpted by hand.
White slip was applied on the iron rich reddish clay body before the initial firing.
The glazing with minimum colour palette (brown, black and yellow) was added before the second firing.
