Kodomari Ryo is a contemporary ceramic artist who crafts vibrant functional stoneware. His hand thrown/build works have been exhibited internationally and very much sought after.

After finishing his ceramic art degree at Okinawa Prefectural Art University, Kodomari stayed on the island of Okinawa and established his studio in Nakijin, in 2006.

 

Inspired by children’s instinctive approach to the art, his functional ware are often incorporated with the spirit of primitivism geometry. The process of making is improvisational, and naturally each piece is one-off with a spontaneous energy.
