Concrave Bowl - Kate Semple
Stoneware ceramic bowl, or bud vase, with a gently tapering top.
A subtle duck-egg coloured glaze is applied to the exterior of the piece, while a soft green glaze is applied to the interior and around the lip. It has a matte finish with no gloss.
The slab-built construction gives this piece a distinctive sculptural form, closely echoing the artist's other primary practice of creating papier-mâché vessels.
Both sculptural and functional, this watertight bowl is designed for use as a flower vase.
