Vintage Japanese Sometsuke Choku Sansui
Old Imari porcelain cup with hand-glazed Sometsuke (blue-and-white) decoration.
Made in Japan, most likely during the late Edo period (circa 1780–1850).
This cup is in the Soba Choko style, a flared cup traditionally used for dipping noodle sauce.
The hand-painted design depicts Sansui, a traditional landscape motif featuring a country house, trees, mountains, and a riverside or lakeside setting.
A stylised mountain motif is also painted on the interior base of the cup.

A) Smaller than (B), with more gloss in the glaze, with sharper blue.
