This one of a kind tea pot wears Sabi glaze and blackened marks on the surface which are full with nuance and texture.
Elaborately crafted clay strainer is build inside the pot so that loose tea leaves will not come out from/block the spout.
Glazed inside. *This piece has a mark on the base inside. See the last image. We do not regard it as a flaw but a character.

About Maker
Ohara Koichi is a highly acclaimed studio potter based in Tokoname, Japan. Ohara draws his inspiration from the raw textures in the nature. He mixes various local soils and materials to make his clay, glaze and slip, which often contain grit. Ohara studied physics at Meisei University before becoming a ceramic artist.
